The Fireballs got a fine performance from shortstop Kazuaki Kishi, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-3 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Seijii Matsumura, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 4 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 4-6.
