Astoria first baseman Tyler Cook earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 2-5 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Chris Pelton got the win, improving to 8-8. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 7 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 4. Astoria is now 61-84.
Francisco González aided the Astoria cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth. For the game, the second baseman was 2-4 with a triple.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said González.
