| Baristas Turn Back Antioch, 4-3 | Benefiting from Vernon Prest's productive game, the Silver Lake Baristas downed the Antioch Coal Miners, 4-3. Prest went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI for the Baristas. Silver Lake reliever Silvino Fagundo picked up the win to move to 4-2. Su-gyung Park suffered the loss. The Baristas bumped their record to 83-63 with this latest triumph.
Had Hilario Martínez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Martínez hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Baristas.
Antioch manager Hervé Barthélémy said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
