| McClinton Hits for Cycle Against Billings | At Stars Field today, Mal McClinton led Indian Wells to a 9-4 victory over the Billings Mustangs by hitting for the cycle, one of baseball's more difficult feats.
"Usually the triple is the hardest one to get, but I was most worried about the homer today because the ball wasn't carrying," McClinton said later. "When I took it deep, I was expecting the ball to die on the warning track, so it was sweet seeing the ump give me the signal to circle the bases."
In addition to going 4-for-4, McClinton chalked up 2 runs batted in and scored 4 runs in an exceptional performance.
Mal McClinton hit a two-run home run off Bill Piner in the 3rd, tripled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
Thus far this year McClinton is hitting .282 with 6 home runs, 53 RBIs and 75 runs scored. |
