| Hornets Prevail, 3-1, Over Kansas City | Eureka starter Roberto Duran had a strong outing against the Kansas City Tornadoes at The Nest. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 3-1 win. Willie Fierro was called on to finish, recording his 8th save. Losses have been few and far between for the Tornadoes so far this season. Their record drops to 22-8.
Had Brian Delmont not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Delmont hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Hornets.
Duran called the win "a collective effort."
