Starting pitcher Iemitsu Shiroi pitched well enough to help the Reno Raiders beat the Fairfield Flash by the score of 5-4. Fairfield's current losing streak has reached 5 games.

Orrin Martell had a big 2-run double for the Raiders in the bottom of the second inning. With Reno leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Leland Bullins and stroked the double to left. It was his 21st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Raiders ahead, 3-0.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Fairfield manager Ramón Torrez.
