| Republic Lose to Sasquatch, 7-1 | The Seattle Sasquatch knocked off the So Cal Republic, 7-1, at Sick's Stadium. Francisco Valdéz, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Seattle won. The third baseman went 3-4 with 2 triples and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Seattle starter Luis García was credited with the win after throwing 92 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 2-4. The Sasquatch, now 22-9, have played some good baseball in the early going.
The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth when Valdéz, who leads the RCL in triples with 4, hit a 2-run double. It propelled the Sasquatch into the lead, 3-1.
"We did a lot of things right," said Valdéz.
