| Redbirds Score Late, Stun Aeropostales, 8-5 | With shortstop Jorge Rivera leading the charge, the Candiac Redbirds defeated the Indian Wells Aeropostales, 8-5, at Municipal Stadium. Rivera was 2-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. Candiac reliever Jason Loer picked up the win, bumping his record to 3-8. Shumei Bailey was collared with the loss. Their 51-88 record puts the Redbirds last in the TMLAAA Joe Torre Division.
Rivera had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a 1-0 cutter from Shumei Bailey, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Redbirds a 8-5 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Rivera.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Rivera said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
