| Caterpillars Bang Out 7-5 Win Versus Silver Lake | With catcher Chris Phillips leading the charge, the Peoria Caterpillars defeated the Silver Lake Baristas, 7-5, at Excavatar Park. Phillips was 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Peoria reliever David Vince got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Carlos Garcia was tagged with the loss. Peoria is in 5th place in the TMLAAA Cito Gaston League with a record of 60-80.
Phillips had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-0 fastball from Rob Myers, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Caterpillars a 7-5 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Phillips.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Phillips.
