| Victory Pushes Marauders Record to 17-14 | The Maple Marauders powered past the Vancouver Pioneers, 9-6, at Legends Park. Tommy Buford went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2, to lead the charge. Minoru Aoki finished the game for Maple and earned his 7th save. The Pioneers fall to 11-20 and continue to sputter in the early going.
The Marauders got a big at-bat from right fielder Manny de la Cruz. For the game, de la Cruz went 1 for 5 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 8th double of the season gave Maple a 5-4 lead.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Davey Morris.
