| Redbirds Get Road Win, 7-6 | The Candiac Redbirds defeated the Billings Mustangs, 7-6, at Cobb Field. Candiac shortstop Jorge Rivera was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Candiac reliever Tomas Fuentes was credited with the win, to go to 4-1. John Curnew took the loss for Billings. The last-place Redbirds are now 50-87, the Mustangs 78-59.
The result might have been different for Candiac, had it not been for Gerardo Hernández. The second baseman produced a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth inning to put the Redbirds ahead, 3-0. For the game, Hernández had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"I felt good up there," said Hernández. "I saw the ball well."
