| Redbirds Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Caterpillars | The Candiac Redbirds bested the Peoria Caterpillars by a score of 7-4, with left fielder Hiromi Nagao getting the main credit. On the day, Nagao was 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk for the Redbirds. Candiac now sits in last place in the TMLAAA Joe Torre Division at 49-86.
Nagao had a game-changing double in the top of the eighth. On a first pitch fastball from Jose Nunez, he banged a run-scoring double to left, giving the Redbirds a 5-4 lead. It was the 30th double of the year for Nagao.
"It feels good to get this one," Nagao told the Candiac Observer.
