| Canadians Roll Racers, 7-3 | The Vancouver Canadians defeated the Bowling Green Racers, 7-3, at Stanley Park. Vancouver center fielder Hugo Rodriguez was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Vancouver reliever Hank Emmons got the win, raising his record to 7-0. Alain Picard was tagged with the loss. Yoshiyuki Matsuda got the save, his 6th in 7 chances.
Rodriguez went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 5 runs and scored once against the Racers. With the game tied in the bottom of the fourth inning, he grounded out, driving in 1 run that scored 1 and put Vancouver in front, 1-0.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Rodriguez told the Vancouver News.
Vancouver goes to 62-72, Bowling Green to 60-73.
