| Argonauts Win at Joplin, 4-3 | The Astoria Argonauts defeated the Joplin Fireballs, 4-3, at The Firepit today. Leading the charge for Astoria was catcher Morgan Catterall. He was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Astoria reliever Toshio Kawabata picked up the win to move to 1-1. Jason Graves suffered the loss. The Argonauts saw their win-loss record go to 54-80. At the same time, the Fireballs fell to 62-70.
Catterall had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-1 forkball from Jason Graves, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Argonauts a 4-3 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Catterall.
"It was a solid team effort," said Catterall after the game.
