| Death Stars Subdue Fort Worth, 4-3 | Fans who came to LaGrave Field watched the Detroit Death Stars and the Fort Worth Cats fight to the finish.
The Death Stars faced a stiff challenge from Fort Worth pitcher Jim Currie, but persevered to claim a win at LaGrave Field. The final score was 4-3. Currie went 5 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The winner was Ron Harris, who threw 108 pitches over 6 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 5 hits. Ben Bower converted his 27th save in 34 tries.
Had Walker Greenan not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Greenan hit a 3-run home run. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Death Stars.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Greenan said.
