| Raiders Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras | Reno withstood an impressive performance by Indian Wells right fielder Chikao Yanagawa to defeat the Aeropostales, 8-7, at Stars Field. Yanagawa was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Gerry LaForest, credited with the win, is now 4-2. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. The Raiders' win now puts them at 57-76.
Reno used the timely hitting of Patrick Moran to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Raiders on top, 8-7. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"The game of baseball will test you," said Ralph Oakes, the Reno skipper. "This one tested us."
