| Bombers Fall Short at Bowling Green | The Bowling Green Racers got a stellar effort from pitcher Alejandro Ortega, helping Bowling Green score a 1-0 win over the visiting Bronx Bombers. Reliever Brad Leys picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Austin Drake took the loss. The Racers now have a mark of 58-71.
Dan Stoner drove in one run for Bowling Green. The 27-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Zong-yuan Sang. It was his 9th RBI of the season.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Ortega told a Bowling Green Times reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
