| Death Stars Fall Short at Fort Worth | The inspired effort of Detroit shortstop Sean Hayward was not enough to prevent a 4-3 loss to the Fort Worth Cats. Hayward went 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Reliever Adam Stickells picked up the win. His record improves to 5-0. Ben Bower took the loss. The Cats bumped their record to 70-60 with this latest triumph.
Rob Koller was the walk-off hero for Fort Worth. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cats catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Koller.
