Multi-HR Day for Maynard as Raiders Overpower Baristas, 9-8

The Reno Raiders beat the Silver Lake Baristas, 9-8, at House of Pain. Reno first baseman Chris Maynard earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The Raiders sit in 5th place in the TMLAAA Joe Torre Division with a record of 55-75.

Had Patrick Moran not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Moran hit a 2-run double. That made the score 9-8, in favor of the Raiders.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Silver Lake manager Diego Aguirre. "But we decided not to take it."
