| Flash Win at Joplin, 3-1 | The rain came, as predicted, but the Fairfield Flash and Joplin Fireballs were able to complete their ballgame.
Fairfield starter Gavin Taylor had a strong outing against the Joplin Fireballs at The Firepit. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 3-1 win. In 6 innings, Taylor surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Eduardo Fuentez was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 21 of 25 save opportunities.
Senta Nakano aided the Fairfield cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth. For the game, the designated hitter went 2-4 with a double.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Taylor said.
