| Cats Win at Peoria, 5-3 | The Cats had to overcome a good performance from Peoria pitcher Tony Rivera to claim a 5-3 win at Excavatar Park. Rivera went 6 innings and allowed 4 earned runs. Fort Worth reliever Adam Stickells picked up the win, bumping his record to 4-0. Tony Rivera was collared with the loss. Jeff Van Wormer was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 2 save opportunities.
Al Nichol, who is tied for 8th in the RAAA in extra base hits with 45, aided the Fort Worth cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first. For the game, the left fielder was 1-3 with a walk.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Nichol said.
The Cats bumped their record to 69-59 with this latest triumph.
