David Gilmour picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Jason Klein was tagged with the loss. With the loss, San Diego sinks to 17-13.
Early in the game, left fielder Jim Commo had a 3-run home run for San Francisco. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Earthquakes on top, 4-3.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Commo said.
