Nagao Leads Redbirds to Win over Paczkis
The Candiac Redbirds downed the Canton Paczkis, 9-7, at Municipal Stadium. Hiromi Nagao led the way, going 2-for-3 for Candiac. Candiac reliever Juan Polonia picked up the win, upping his record to 4-3. Chris Long shouldered the loss. Neil Vandermark earned his 4th save in 7 chances.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when shortstop Jorge Rivera drew a walk. The Redbirds went on to win.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Jim Fernández.
