| Republic Trip Pioneers in Extras | The So Cal Republic racked up a win at "The Fort" at B.C. Place, bumping off the Vancouver Pioneers, 3-2. Oscar Mata, who started for So Cal, pitched effectively for his team. Picking up the save was Tony Bacon, his 2nd. The Pioneers fall to 11-18 and continue their lackluster start in 2038.
The Republic got a big at-bat from left fielder Walt Muller. For the game, Muller went 1 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. In the top of the 11th, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 5th double of the season gave So Cal a 3-2 lead.
"I like our resilience," said Muller.
