Victory Pushes Bombers Record to 70-53

The Bronx Bombers relied on the hitting of right fielder Bill Gaffaney to stop the Billings Mustangs, 8-2. For the game, Gaffaney was 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The Bombers bumped their record to 70-53 with this latest triumph.

The Bombers got a big at-bat from third baseman Bill Ottinger. For the game, Ottinger was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Bronx a 6-2 lead.
