| Victory Pushes Death Stars Record to 71-52 | Pasadena got a terrific game from first baseman Edwin Alvarez. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Detroit, 10-6. Alvarez was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Eddie Gonzales earned his 1st save in 2 chances. The Bumblebees, at 58-64, have lost 4 in a row.
Jason Barham went 1 for 4 with a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Detroit. The 28-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Mike Weschler. It was his 6th walk of the season.
"This win gets us that much closer to where we want to be," Barham said in postgame remarks.
