| Raiders Get Road Win, 6-2 | The Reno Raiders topped the Joplin Fireballs, 6-2, in TMLAAA action at The Firepit. The player of the game was Reno pitcher and Japan native Iemitsu Shiroi. Shiroi got the win, improving to 9-10. He allowed 4 hits and walked 3 over 8.2 innings. Shiroi allowed 2 earned runs. Diego Contreras earned his 25th save in 27 chances.
The Raiders got a big at-bat from third baseman Orrin Martell. For the game, Martell was 2-5 with a double, while scoring 2 times. In the top of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 121st hit of the season gave Reno a 2-1 lead.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Martell told the Reno Daily News.
The Raiders, at 51-73, sit in 5th place in the TMLAAA Joe Torre Division.
