| Blazers Turn Back Brooklyn, 4-2 | The Bloomington Blazers racked up a win at Arson Arena, bumping off the Brooklyn Black Knights, 4-2. Joey Steamer, who started for Bloomington, pitched effectively for his team. In 6 innings, Steamer surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Picking up the save was Matt Comrie, his 6th.
The Blazers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Willie Curry. For the game, Curry went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Bloomington a 2-0 lead.
Brooklyn manager Tim Duncan said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
With the win, Bloomington pushes its record to 16-14.
