| Victory Pushes Mustangs Record to 73-49 | Behind a solid performance from third baseman Jorge Ortega, the Billings Mustangs defeated the Bronx Bombers, 8-4. Ortega was 3 for 5 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times for the Mustangs. Nicolas Joubert converted his 8th save in 10 tries. The Mustangs bumped their record to 73-49 with this latest triumph.
Vern Carroll aided the Billings cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the third. For the game, the shortstop was 1 for 3 with a walk and was hit by a pitch.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Carroll told the Billings Today.
