| Victory Over Caterpillars Takes Antioch to 77-46 | Behind a solid performance from third baseman Wang Huang, the Antioch Coal Miners defeated the Peoria Caterpillars, 6-2. Huang was 3-3 with 3 singles and 3 walks for the Coal Miners. Chris Costello got the win, improving to 16-1. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Clement Bowden converted his 2nd save in 2 tries.
Adrián Ferreira, who is tied for 4th in the TAAA in triples with 6, aided the Antioch cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh. For the game, the designated hitter was 1 for 4 with a double and a walk.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Ferreira told the Antioch Observer.
The first-place Coal Miners have won 4 consecutive games.
