| Death Stars Turn Back Pasadena, 6-4 | The Detroit Death Stars topped the Pasadena Bumblebees, 6-4, in TMLAAA action at The Death Star. The player of the game was Detroit pitcher Sergio Solis. Detroit reliever Jimmy Gregus picked up the win, bumping his record to 3-4. Victor Bustos was collared with the loss. Detroit is now 69-52, 5 games up in the TMLAAA Joe Torre Division.
Had Willis Ortiz not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Ortiz hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Death Stars.
"This win gets us that much closer to where we want to be," Solis said in postgame remarks.
