| Kodiaks Get Road Win, 5-2 | The Calgary Kodiaks defeated the Peoria Caterpillars, 5-2, at Excavatar Park. Calgary right fielder Jerry Jaeger was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times. Dan Van Sickle converted his 2nd save in 2 tries. Peoria's current losing streak is now 4 games.
The Kodiaks got a big at-bat from third baseman Edwin Portillo. For the game, Portillo went 1 for 3 with a home run. In the top of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 10th home run of the season gave Calgary a 3-2 lead.
"That's a solid team effort right there," said Jaeger. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."
