| Canadians Win at Coronado, 8-3 | A nice crowd turned out to see the Vancouver Canadians and Coronado Phantoms clash at Phantoms Field.
The Vancouver Canadians beat the Coronado Phantoms, 8-3, at Phantoms Field. The win was largely due to the efforts of left fielder Pat Waxman, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Vancouver is 55-65 and Coronado, with the loss, 49-72.
Tom Monacelli chipped in for Vancouver with a 2-run home run in the top of the third. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Waxman told the Vancouver News.
