| Canadians Lose, 5-2, at Phantoms Field | The Coronado Phantoms picked up a win at Phantoms Field, knocking off the Vancouver Canadians, 5-2. Starting pitcher Jason Cole, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Cole picked up the win for Coronado, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 8-7. Joe Starring notched his 3rd save in 6 chances.
The Phantoms got a big at-bat from designated hitter Justin King. For the game, King went 1-4 with a home run. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Coronado a 3-2 lead.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Phantoms manager Sean Davidson. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
The Phantoms raised their record to 49-71.
