Loss Extends Candiac Losing Streak

Joplin Fireballs starter Dan Fram turned in a top-notch performance against the Candiac Redbirds at Municipal Stadium. The result was a win for the Fireballs, 5-2. Fram picked up the win for Joplin, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 9-3. Kirk Redman got the save, his 4th in 4 chances.

Joplin used a timely hit from Victor Portillo to get the win. The center fielder delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Fireballs on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Feels good to get the job done," Portillo said after the game.
