| Pioneers Bridle Republic, 3-1 | It was a good time at "The Fort" at B.C. Place, where fans came to watch the So Cal Republic and Vancouver Pioneers get after it.
Vancouver Pioneers starter Neil Coffin turned in a top-notch performance against the So Cal Republic at "The Fort" at B.C. Place. The result was a win for the Pioneers, 3-1. Picking up the save was Darren Thomas, his 4th.
The Pioneers got a big at-bat from first baseman Khai Sui. For the game, Sui went 2 for 4 with a double. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 17th hit of the season gave Vancouver a 2-1 lead.
"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Coffin. "Successful pitchers do it."
Vancouver, now 11-17, is off to a slow start.
