| Islanders Blank Rockhounds, Argueta Wins | Hawaii Islanders pitcher Fred Argueta blanked the Midland Rockhounds 4-0 at Field of Dreams today, tossing a 6-hitter while issuing 1 walk and collecting 4 strikeouts.
After his sharp shutout performance, he shared credit with the rest of the club.
"I was just locked in out there and some of that is due to having a catcher who has such a great feel for hitters," Argueta said. "I couldn't do what I did without all the guys out there today."
This season Argueta has crafted a 2-4 mark with a 2.94 ERA in 49 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .217 against him and he has 32 strikeouts. |
