| Victory Pushes Death Stars Record to 64-50 | The Reno Raiders got a superb performance from pitcher Iemitsu Shiroi, but the Detroit Death Stars still won the game, 5-1. Shiroi was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings allowing 5 runs. Reliever Juan Bernal picked up the win. His record improves to 2-3. Iemitsu Shiroi took the loss. Detroit is now 64-50, 5½ games up in the TMLAAA Joe Torre Division.
Jonathan Padilla aided the Detroit cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the second. For the game, the catcher went 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"I thought we played a nice game," Padilla told the Detroit Daily News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
