| Sasquatch Lose to Republic, 3-1 | Seamus Floyd never let the Sasquatch get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Republic to a 3-1 win. Floyd went 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-0. George Fortin picked up the save for So Cal, his 3rd of the year.
The Republic got a big at-bat from first baseman Justin Nichols. For the game, Nichols was 2-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 1st double of the season gave So Cal a 2-1 lead.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Nichols said after the game.
The Republic, now 4-0, have been on a roll in the early going.
