| Cacti Prevail, 2-1, Over Fort Worth | The Albuquerque Cacti scored a 2-1 win versus the Fort Worth Cats at Albuquerque Sports Stadium. Albuquerque pitcher Ken Stein nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Stein, the winner, moves to 9-5. He threw 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. Hiroshi Nagasawa notched his 29th save in 32 chances.
Dustin Williams drove in one run for Albuquerque. The 34-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Richard Sinclair. It was his 20th RBI of the season.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Williams.
The Cacti bumped their record to 56-56 with this latest triumph.
