| Raiders Topple Death Stars with Late Rally | The Detroit Death Stars got a superb performance from pitcher Jesús Rivera. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Reno. The Raiders won the game, 2-1. In spite of the loss, Rivera was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. Diego Contreras converted his 24th save in 24 tries. The Raiders raised their record to 48-64.
The Raiders got a big at-bat from second baseman Bobby Serrato. For the game, Serrato was 1-4. In the top of the ninth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 42nd hit of the season gave Reno a 2-1 lead.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Reno manager Ralph Oakes.
