| Bears Roll Phantoms, 7-3 | The Coronado Phantoms and Birmingham Bears brought some excitement to Phantoms Field.
The Birmingham Bears topped the Coronado Phantoms, 7-3, with first baseman Albert Rivas playing a big role. Rivas was 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk for the Bears in the win. Birmingham reliever Craig Collier got the win, raising his record to 2-3. Ricardo Castillo was tagged with the loss. Daniel Farley got the save, his 5th in 8 chances.
Anton Guzman hit a bases-clearing triple off Mauricio Ayala in the top of the seventh, which put the Bears in front, 6-3. Guzman had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 5.
