| Canadians Win at Cairo, 5-3 | Vancouver beat Cairo on the strength of starter John Gayden's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a 5-3 win. Gayden, now 5-12, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing no earned runs. Yoshiyuki Matsuda got the save, his 4th in 4 chances.
