| Baristas Get Close Win Over Canadians | The Silver Lake Baristas did just enough to sneak past the Vancouver Canadians, 2-1, at Stanley Park. Silver Lake pitcher Andrew Welborn earned player of the game honors. The Baristas bumped their record to 59-47 with this latest triumph.
The Baristas got a big at-bat from catcher Oscar Mayes. For the game, Mayes was 3 for 5 with 3 singles. In the top of the ninth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 46th hit of the season gave Silver Lake a 2-1 lead.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Vancouver skipper Anthony Weinstein, "and it cost us."
