Toreros Get One-Run Win at Dallas

The Cabo San Lucas Toreros downed the Dallas Texans, 8-7, at Metroplex Park. The Toreros were led by Mike Pope, who captured player of the game honors. He was 4-5 with 4 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Cabo San Lucas reliever Hiroshi Tokita was the winner. His record is now 1-0. John Cosman took the loss. The Texans drop to 11-17 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2038 season.

Pope had a game-changing single in the top of the seventh. On a 1-0 fastball from Diego Santiago, he banged a run-scoring single to center, giving the Toreros a 7-6 lead. It was the 29th hit of the year for Pope.
