Gravel Excels, But Aeropostales Win

Birmingham got a terrific performance from first baseman Joe Gravel, but it wasn't enough to beat the Indian Wells Aeropostales. Indian Wells won the Edgbaston contest, 9-7. Gravel was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Pin-zhen Au was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 3 save opportunities. Indian Wells has now won 4 straight.

The Aeropostales got a big at-bat from center fielder Brian Martin. For the game, Martin was 1-4 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2.
