Cats Come Back Late to Top Flash

The Fairfield Flash wasted an impressive 7-inning effort from starter Leland Bullins, falling 2-0 to the Fort Worth Cats at LaGrave Field. Jamie Newitt, credited with the win, is now 7-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.2 innings. Bob Campos notched his 13th save in 16 chances.

A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when second baseman Troy Tisdale hit a double. The Cats went on to win.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Fort Worth manager Jon Hughes.

Fort Worth goes to 63-43. The win puts them 7 games up in their division.
