| Bombers Lose, 6-3, at Waterfront Park | Conditions were not ideal but Portland and South Carolina were able to put their game in the books.
The Portland Beavers defeated the South Carolina Bombers, 6-3, in Roberto Clemente League action at Waterfront Park, with Portland pitcher Felipe De La Hoya named player of the game. De La Hoya got the win, improving to 4-1. He allowed 3 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. De La Hoya allowed 2 earned runs. Quan Que earned the save, his 6th.
Luke Riviere, the 13th overall pick in the 2031 draft, aided the Portland cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the third baseman was 2 for 5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Riviere, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
The win brings the Beavers to 18-9, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
