The Reno Rockets downed the Bronx Bombers, 5-2, at Red Rocket Field. Pablo Perez led the way, going 1-for-2 for Reno. Reno reliever Alejandro Sánchez was credited with the win, to go to 3-0. Francisco Trevino took the loss for Bronx. Lynn Clark, credited with the save, is now 2 for 4 in save opportunities.

The Rockets got a big at-bat from left fielder Greg Holder. For the game, Holder went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Reno a 3-2 lead.

"I thought we played a nice game," Holder told the Reno Times. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."

The Rockets raised their record to 43-61.
