| Bears Win at Candiac, 7-6 | Candiac got a terrific performance from second baseman Gerardo Hernández, but it wasn't enough to beat the Birmingham Bears. Birmingham won the Municipal Stadium contest, 7-6. Hernández was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs. With the win over Candiac, the Bears improved to 46-52.
Victor Manzo aided the Birmingham cause with a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth. For the game, the first baseman went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Manzo said.
